My family loves drinking lemonade. It is such a refreshing drink but it does require a lot of sugar to sweeten. These are some alternatives to using white sugar:
Agave has a low glycemic index
Honey contains minerals like magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium chlorine, sulphur, iron and phosphate. And vitamins B1, B2, C, B6, B5 and B3
Xylitol helps prevent cavities
.... KIWI LEMONADE....
1/2 cup of agave 0r 2/3 cup organic granulated sugar
4 cups water
4 kiwis, peeled
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 6 lemons, including pulp)
In a pitcher, mix the sugar and water until the sugar dissolves. In a blender or food processor, puree the kiwi. Add the pureed kiwi and lemon juice to the pitcher and stir to combine.
*****add some frozen strawberries for ice cubes. It looks fancy and when the strawberry starts to melt it will makes strawberry lemonade...my daughter's absolute favorite drink!!
