Undercover Spaghetti Sauce with Vegetables

Adults and children cannot seem to get enough vegetables these days. This is partially due to the lack of vitamins in them from depleted soil and increasing pesticides used.

I found that giving my daughter raw veggies but also adding them into sauces, smoothies, etc. would ensure that she would be getting enough daily. Also, if your child doesn't like to eat his/her veggies, and meal time is stressful, then this is an easy recipe that your kids can enjoy.
Spaghetti Sauce:

1 jar of organic tomato sauce (or homemade)
1/2 cup of sliced carrots
1/2 cup of spinach or kale
sprinkle of oregano fresh basil and parsley

When it has cooked down puree with food processor
*if your child likes a chunkier sauce then add some sauteed zucchini and mushrooms as well.

Gaiam Balance Ball Chair

I have a new blogging chair: The Gaiam Balance Ball Chair System.

Working on a computer can easily equate to poor posture and a sore back. It's also tough to keep your back straight using a regular chair.  To help my posture I use the Gaiam Balance Ball chair and love it.  The removable, anti-burst Balance Ball (55cm) is free of latex and the six most harmful phthalates. The base  cradles the ball with easy-glide casters an air pump and exercise guide.

I chose the deep plum color but it comes in a variety of hues including: sage, pool, plum or classic charcoal, each on black base.  I also like that you can burn a lot of calories using the three dynamic, body-shaping workout tools: a medium resistance cord with handles, medium body band and a Balance Ball workout DVD with two complete workouts. Now, after a little bit of typing I pull our the resistance cords and work out for a while. The chair is lightweight and my back feels great after sitting for long period of time. I remove and use the exercise ball a lot which is a nice feature. The guide book was helpful and the assembly took me less than 2 minutes to put together. All and all, I use it everyday and highly recommend it.

Easy assembly required.

Moon Dough Barnyard Review

Moon Dough Magic Barnyard Play Set

Kids just love the feel of moon dough in their hands.  Moon Dough is a molding compound for kids ages 2-4. It  claims to never dry out. This dough is soft, wheat free, hypoallergenic, and it cleans up easily. It is very easy to mold and comes in eight different vibrant colors.  There are many play sets available, such as the new barnyard play set that we tried out. The Moon Dough barnyard set comes with molds for a pig, sheep, cow horse, and hay bale. There is also a fence an cute play mat.  The Moon Dough Barnyard retails for $19.99.
Moon Dough™ Barn Play Set

Kids love the texture of moon dough.  It's squishy without being too sticky.
I like that kids can create animals independently  with a little bit of pressure and without feeling frustrated.  If their molds don't come out right it's easy to squish it and remold again.
One negative is that the moon dough does crumble, which is why I save it for a picnic table toy.  This way children can play freely without parents panicking  about pieces of moon dough falling on the floor.
I especially recommend this as a great spring activity for kids that is a lot easier to clean up for parents outside. Also, if you have old playdoh containers laying around, I recommend storing your colors in these because they can be resealed. *product provided  for review purposes by  Spin Master

Moon Dough is available at Toys "R" Us, Target, Walmart,, and many other retailers.

Organic Raw Honey Review and Giveaway

Organic Canadian Raw Honey - 17.7 oz.Organic Canadian Raw Honey - 15 lb. pail
A Raw Product from the Wilderness
Tropical Traditions has Organic Raw Honey that comes from the frontier areas of Canada, and is only harvested during a 6-week period in the summer.
I was able to try this sweet treat and made some baklava that was simply delicious.  I like that this honey isn't pasteurized in high heat and filtered, removing many of the beneficial nutrients and enzymes.
Tropical Traditions Organic Raw Honey has not been subjected to the heat of processing, only warmed enough to flow (same temperatures the honey would see inside the hive).

It contains live yeast and enzymes, because it has not been processed. It also contains pollen because it has not been filtered—merely screened.

One thing I learned from their website is that truly raw honeys do not deteriorate with age, but like fine wines, continue to age and develop into more complex tastes. Very neat!

There are many sweeteners on the market.  I like to use honey because it's natural and  unprocessed.  Raw, organic, Canadian honey, available exclusively in the US through Tropical Traditions is a perfect pick!
Now you can have a chance to win!

Kidorable Umbrella Giveaway

Have you heard of Kidorable? They are best known for their bright and fabulous umbrellas! They also sell matching rain boots, raincoats, beach towels, backpacks, and more.   I first heard about Kidorable when I saw their beautiful umbrellas on the cover of People magazine below.  Then, a few of my friends had various products bought from Kidorable. I thought, hmmm...this is a pretty popular company with kids!  Let's face it, kids love the rain and having bright colored "cute as a button" umbrellas and rain gear is going to be sought after.
Above is a picture of my daughter in their Pink Ballerina Boots that I was sent to review, another great product for all of the little dancers out there!  They are super cute and perfect for splashing in rain puddles.  I also loved that there was no yucky plastic smell to them.
They also have a sweet Ballerina umbrella, backpack, hangers, and rain coat in their collection.
Now you can have a chance to win your very own Kidorable umbrella!

Tea Collection Girls Dresses

I love tea and not just the drinking kind. The Tea collection is much like the drink, that is shared in many cultures offering inspiration, warmth and mindfulness. Their children’s fashions bare the tagline “for little citizens of the world,” celebrating the beauty found in cultures around the world.

Tea finds it's beauty through places around the world. Those colors, shapes, sounds, and movements found in these different cultures are exemplified in their pieces.  Tea Collection is inspired by the beauty of cultures around the world and channels those inspirations into apparel with a modern, global vibe.
Songbird Banded Dress $27.00

Tea Collection has also designed a collection for women, which features  sweaters, scarves, and a versatile effortless style you can wear anywhere. The Tea collection has Children's clothing,  Girl's clothing, Boy's clothing and Baby Clothes too!

Plumas Scalloped Dress $39.00

What I like about Tea is that it is that their clothing is not only fashionable but ultra soft, breathable and movable. It is also machine washable. Yes, I am a big fan!

My favorite are their Girls dresses and mix and match sets.  they also carry  tops, leggings, pants, shorts, sweaters, and even outerwear, pajamas, and shoes.

Chiropractic and Fertility Connection

In case you haven't heard every first and third Wednesday is "Wellness Wednesday" here at Mom's Best Bets.  I invite you to learn more about getting healthy with Lifetime Family Wellness Center.

Chiropractic and Fertility
Is there a connection between receiving chiropractic care and becoming pregnant?  Yes, there actually is.  There are a few studies, one in particular who followed 15 women, who ranged from 22-64.  They were adjusted using a variety of techniques to remove nerve interference that might affect their ability to conceive.  They found that 14 of the 15 subjects became pregnant within 2-20 months of starting this chiropractic care.
So, why can it help?
The nerves that regulate and control the reproductive system exit from the spine.  I have known more than one person who has seen these kind of results after a only few months of chiropratic adjustments.  Chiropractic care isn't a treatment for infertility, but nervous system interferences may be a factor.
Just another reason to schedule an appointment today!
*For all of my Hawaii Readers check out to learn more about how you and your family can live a healthier life.

*If you don't live in Hawaii please check out Bonfire Health which is a collaborative website with Dr. Bruce and two other notable doctors who will give your free tips and information on how to adopt this healthy way of life.

They are also an excellent source of manganese, vitamin C,magnesiumvitamin Afiberpotassiumfolatecopper, riboflavin, and phosphorus.

When purchasing zucchini, look for ones that are heavy, shiny, and an average size (not overly big or small).
There are many different recipes for Zucchini Boats. You canGoogle it, but I use my mom's recipe which is heavenly!
