I was looking for a children's magazine that was educational and fun for young child. I came across
Chirp magazine. My daughter just loves it. Chirp is the cute little yellow bird on the cover. There are stories, fun tips and facts, and lots of interactive educational learning pages.
Chirp

Chirp's innovative package of stories, puzzles, and activities is designed for 3- to 6-year-old children. The pages of Chirp are filled with lively illustrations and colourful photographs that encourage readers to laugh and learn. Illustrated stories and poems by Canada's most talented authors and artists entertain our readers while preparing them to read independently.
Owl Kids also has two other publications for older age groups:
chickaDEE
chickaDEE is a fun, hands-on magazine for 6- to 9-year-old kids whose thirst for knowledge and appetite for humour are insatiable. Interactive stories, puzzles, comics, animal features, and science experiments educate and entertain readers. Each issue is based on a different theme, such as "Space" or "Ancient Greece".

OWL

For thirty years, OWL has rocked the world of Canadian kids ages 9 to 13-years old! OWLprovides readers with timely, reliable, and relevant information on the topics and issues that concern them — everything from sports and the environment, to pop culture and peer relationships. OWL is packed with lively text, bold designs, and tons of fun with original comics, quirky facts, and mind-boggling puzzles, designed to nurture a lifelong love of reading.
OwlKids not only carries magazines but leveled books as well. I read "
Not Your Typical Book about the Environment" and "
Try This at Home." I found both books informative, including practical approaches that empower children to make better choices that protect their health and the well being of the environment.
Not Your Typical Book about the EnvironmentWritten by Elin Kelsey
Illustrated by Clayton HanmerNot Your Typical Book about the Environment highlights the green solutions that are being practiced in many areas including fabrics, food, energy, transportation, and entertainment. Above all, readers are reminded that we are a part of the natural world, and living in harmony with it is not as counterintuitive as we might think.
