Memorial Day Salute!

Happy Memorial Day Everyone. The following is an email I received that sums up this day. Let us all honor those who have served and fallen for our freedom.

Academy J Headband Review

Academy J is comprised of Sarah, Jessica, and Aimee - three BYU visual arts/education students. They design and create all of their beautiful headbands. These busy and talented girls are constantly coming up with new designs. Because of the handmade quality of their headbands, each one has the potential to differ slightly from the picture shown. They will even work with you personally on any custom orders you may have (weddings. bridesmaids etc). Academy J sent me this lovely black beaded headband to review. I liked that it was lightweight and sewn well. The beads were lovely and it has just a hint of sophistication and flair. I wasn't sure whether to keep it for myself or give it to my daughter but as you can see it is even cuter on curls!

Hawaiian Honu Love

This friendly Hawaiian turtle surprised me yesterday morning when I was taking some pictures of a humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa swimming by. He actually bumped my leg and then just looked up at me and hung out. Isn't he the cutest? I was able to snap a picture before he swam away probably in search of some seaweed.

Jesus and the Children Series: Cecil and Friends

"Jesus loves everyone … his close friends … the grown-ups that listen to him teach about God … but he especially loves little children." I love the concept but I have to say that I am not a fan of the harsh words and crazy illustrations. The illustrations are bright and attention getting. Also the sentence structure is strong and captivating, but it reminded me far too much of Beavis and Butthead (of which I'm not a fan) so therefore I do not care for this series.

The Long Ride Home is a book by Marsha Hubler about a foster girl who sets out on a journey to know more about her biological family. This is only one of the books in the series. If your child loves horses, then they will love Keystone Stables horse adventures.

As a parent and teacher, I am a big fan of Sid the Science Kid. Children can learn and investigate scientific concepts with the lovable character Sid and his friends. My four year old uses words such as precipitation, pulley, decay, etc after watching some Sid episodes.

Sid is curious and wants to know everything about everything. My daughter more readily lets me apply sunscreen after watching Sunny Special Dad Day and learning about protecting our skin.Sid also learns about the rain and the importance of precipitation to the plants and environment around him. Artichoke Appetizers!

We love artichokes at our house. My daughter especially looks forward to plucking those juicy and healthy artichoke leaves. I quickly took this picture before it was gone. They are also super healthy for you, packed with Potassium, Magnesium, Vitamin C, Dietary Fiber, and Protein.

My thoughts:

The side clear panel windows allow the colorful socks to show through. It is subtle, but very cute for little ones. The U*neaks socks are bright and have fun themes such as Madagascar animals printed on them.

My daughter loved her shoes. They are well made, sturdy, but comfortable to run in. They have arch support and are very fashionable. She especially liked their colorful pinks socks that were seen through the window. I am happy with these shoes. Not only are they cute but very comfortable!
