Rudi's Bakery and Fabulous French Toast Recipe

Oh Bread! Isn't it so yummy? I like to buy whole grain USDA organic bread. One of my favorite breads for french toast is from Rudi's Bakery called Ancient Grain Spelt bread. It has a fantastic light flavor that is perfect for french toast. I made some this morning for my daughter and husband as we watched the beautiful Hawaiian sunrise on our lanai.

Rudi's Bakery, in Boulder, Colorado, makes lots of different breads, tortillas, and fabulous English muffins. I recently tried their 7 grain bread, which makes a great salmon salad sandwich. And my husband made ONO (that's good in Hawaiian) fish tacos with their spelt tortillas. They were large enough to hold everything and sturdy enough that nothing fell out.

Rudi's Bakery chooses ingredients that are simple, wholesome, and certified organic. They are made the old-fashioned way with ingredients you can pronounce. They never use any high fructose corn syrup, chemical preservatives, or artificial ingredients.

RECIPE (Adapted from Rudi's Bakery Website)

Fabulous Mom's Best Bets French Toast

2 large organic eggs

1/2 cup organic milk

1 teaspoon agave or sugar

1 teaspoon of Cinnamon

6 slices of Rudi's Organic Ancient Grain Bread

3 tablespoons coconut oil

sprinkle of Flax seeds

blueberries to garnish

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, until blended. Pour into a large baking pan and soak bread slices in 1 layer, turning once to coat both sides. Pour oil in a skillet over moderately high heat. Transfer soaked bread slices to skillet and cook until golden brown. Transfer slices to a large shallow baking pan. After all slices are browned and arranged in baking pan, bake on a center oven-rack until hot, about 5 minutes.

Let me introduce you to "Scribble On Everything" Wall Art! These are just a few of their many designs to make your wall ooze with creativity. Each of their designs have so much personality and originality.

I love the floating balls above but couldn't resist this Happy Tree (to the right). It is hanging in my daughter's play room and we just love it. The fabulous people at Scribble on Everything sent this large decal of the Happy Tree to us for this review with detailed instructions on how to "carefully" peel the decal off and apply it to your desired space. The funny thing that happened was when I went to stick it on the wall I realized that I have textured walls, "Ahhh!" How is this going to properly adhere, I thought? Well, with a little bit of help from my four year old (hee hee), it not only stuck but it looks fabulous!

I'm sure it would even look smoother and better on a flat wall. It only took us a few minutes to wipe the wall down and slowly apply the decals. My daughter loved putting the little birds in their special places.

This is a great alternative to having your walls custom painted, as this is very expensive. I have custom painted my relatives and friends houses and it's a hard job. My favorite was a grape vine that I painted that led to a wine cellar.

The two interior compartments are removable and versatile to help keep contents clean and tidy. This is a pretty big bag for travelling, but it's my favorite from the collection. I can fit everything in here and I love the removable Velcro bags inside!
