"At American Girl, we celebrate girls and all that they can be. That's why we develop products and experiences that help girls grow up in a wholesome way, while encouraging them to enjoy girlhood through fun and enchanting play."
When I was little, I just loved American Girl Dolls. The Samantha and Felicity doll were my favorite. Their historical characters explore America’s past and teach children through their books more about these important times. Since, I was young, their collection has expanded...a lot! They now have American Girl characters, Just Like You® Dolls, Bitty Baby®, American Girl magazine, American Girl stores, and many Books.
I love that she can learn about historical characters like Felicity. Very soon Felicity will no longer be availble, so this might be the perfect and timely Christmas gift

Felicity is a girl that is growing up during a revolutionary time. She believes the American colonies should be free. Others think a king who lives far away is most fit to rule—even Felicity’s grandfather and her best friend, Elizabeth. Feeling torn, Felicity must find a way to hold both love and loyalty in her heart.
Bring this spirited colonial girl home
for the holidays—before she moves
into the American Girl Archives.
Felicity® opens up a whole world of play with authentic styles from 1774, just before the American Revolution. She comes in an embroidered, lavender gown,
white stockings, a shift, and black shoes with fancy buckles
We fancy her long, wavy red hair (a novelty here in Hawaii)
The Felicity doll is 18 inches tall with a soft cloth body, and her movable head and limbs are made of smooth vinyl. The Meet Felicity book is the first story about this loyal girl growing up in Williamsburg in 1774, featuring beautiful illustrations and a historical "Looking Back" essay about colonial life.
You can also explore the magical world of the American Girl shops, featuring dolls, books, and toys that can bring a smile to any girl's face. Have you heard about the tea parties, salons, movies, and outings your little one and doll can have? I can't wait to go. Please feel free to share your American doll buying or outing experience. We would love to hear about it!
Now you have the chance to WIN your very own Felicity doll before she is retired:
To Win: Visit American Girl and tell me why you like Felicity.

ReplyDeleteMy daughter really wants the like me doll, but they don't have a blonde haired, brown eyed girl without freckles or bangs, let alone short hair and OMG!!! HELLO! Their stuff is make-me-pass-out expensive. I thought the bitty baby stuff was enxpensive, btu now I'm wondering how I'm going to afford the doll, and outfit she wants and ANYthing else!!

ReplyDeleteI am not sure where to post about the Felicity giveaway. Anyway, my daughter is 6 and has been begging for an American Girl Doll for years. We have not been able to purchase one for her, but I know the desire to have one, because I wanted a Samantha Doll as a child! Felicity is actually her favorite, but she is sad that she is being discontinued, so she probably will not get one otherwise!
ReplyDeleteIt seems sad that they are retiring Felicity, but it's neat that she was one of the originals and it would be awesome for my little girl to own her (as her 1st American Girl doll) before she is gone.

The AG catalog *just* came in the mail today, and I was a little shocked to read Felicity will soon be retired! I'm currently reading a novel that is set in Felicity's time period (Revolutionary War era) and it's always been a fascinating subject to me. I know my daughters would love this doll and it would be great to learn more about the history of that time!
