Zondervan Book Review and Giveaway

Happy Mother's Day! I love sharing good wholesome books with my daughter. I particularly like Zondervan books for their quality and unique ability to appeal to children and teach them more about being the person God created them to be.

The book, "Just Like You Beautiful Babies Around the World," by Marla Stewart Konrad and illustrated by Lin Wang is my top pick for a wonderful Mother's Day picture book.
"On the day you were born, God wrapped his gentle arms around the whole world."

Global families form the centerpiece of this heartwarming story that reminds us of the universal bonds between loved ones. We may be different but a mom's love is strong and true and the encompassing embrace of God’s love is even stronger!

Here are just a few more of the many great books Zonderkidz has to offer:

These books about David are my daughter's favorite!
This level-one reader is a sweet story about a mouse whose life parallels that of David the shepherd and king. We also read and love,"Little David Sings for the King" and "Little David's Brave Day." These are simple stories but a great way to teach young ones how to read and enjoy some great bible stories.
Well, we instantly liked this alphabet book because my daughter's favorite letter is "K." K Is for Kite God's Springtime Alphabet By: Kathy-jo Wargin Illustrated by: Kim Gatto. It's a is a bright and beautifully written alphabet picture book celebrating the newness of God’s springtime and all the beauty it brings.

For ages 9-12 there are some heartfelt books, such as Never Blame the Umpire, by: Gene Fehler that features Kate, an 11 year old girl struggling to find joy when tragedy strikes her close-knit family.
Last DanceBook is a book in the popular series: Carter House Girls By: Melody Carlson. Melody Carlson has written more than 200 books for teens, women, and children. Girls ages 13-16 will like the contemporary writing style with underlining spiritual aspects.
“Fresh, vivid and attention-grabbing. These stories touch the heart and illuminate the mind” — --Max Lucado, Pastor and Bestselling Author
"Jesus loves everyone … his close friends … the grown-ups that listen to him teach about God … but he especially loves little children." I love the concept but I have to say that I am not a fan of the harsh words and crazy illustrations. The illustrations are bright and attention getting. Also the sentence structure is strong and captivating, but it reminded me far too much of Beavis and Butthead (of which I'm not a fan) so therefore I do not care for this series.

The Long Ride Home is a book by Marsha Hubler about a foster girl who sets out on a journey to know more about her biological family. This is only one of the books in the series. If your child loves horses, then they will love Keystone Stables horse adventures.
The true-life story of how a boy from Brazil became the FIFA World Player of the Year written by Jeremy V. Jones. Kaká is arguably the greatest soccer player in the world, but he was once the smallest boy in his class. His life is an example of character, perseverance, commitment, and faith. When he suffered a crippling injury doctors told him he would never play again. Through faith and perseverance Kaká recovered, and today he plays in front of thousands of fans every year. As the 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year and winner of the Ballon d’Or, this midfielder for Real Madrid has become one of the most recognized faces on the soccer field.
