Eco Craft: Tie Dye Playdough

Creating with playdough is always fun. If your playdough supply is like mine, then you probably have more mixed up hues rather than bright solid colors. Why is this? Because children love to experiment. Mixing the colors is sometimes more fun than forming an object.

We were outside playing this morning when I saw that most of her playdough was tie dyed and starting to get hard. My first though was: it's useless and we need to buy more. But then I decided this was a great way to reuse the playdough and make something useful and fun!

So, for today's Eco craft, take your mixed up old playdough and roll it out smooth and make some fun molds. My daughter spied our Christmas molds and decided to make some early designs for December. We will glue some old magnets on the back for some and glue pins on the others for Grandma. She also made the cutest fish and anemone (pictured on top).
What fun on a warm Spring Day!

  1. We read your blog post this afternoon and we tried it this evening. It sure helped clean out our box of yucky brown and mixed up colors. My kids made some colorful things too-thanks
