Smelly Towel Review and Giveaway!

Are you always doing laundry? I know, the basket seems to fill right up just as soon as you finish drying the previous load. You may have seen or heard of Smelly Washer. I was sent a brand new product from Smelly Washer called Smelly Towel. Living on the beach, we go through tons on towels. We are careful to air dry them before washing because once a wet towel sits for more than a day (or sooner) it develops mold which is not only smelly but harmful for your health.

Smelly Washer Cleaner is for an empty washer and Smelly Towel is for a washer with towels and clothing in it. In short, Smelly Towel Cleaner was made specifically for towels and clothing. It's gentle formula is designed to remove odor-causing mold from towels and clothing. It's citrus-based formula leaves your towels and clothing smelling like they are new!

Why Towels Build Up Mold, Mildew, and Odor:
Overuse of detergents, using fabric softener and/or using only low water temperatures for washing will cause odor in your washer. The odor-causing residue and mold spores are transferred to towels and clothing and are impossible to remove until the washer has been cleaned. Towels are more plush than clothing therefore absorb more mold spores. Also, towels are used near the face and when wet so odor is noticed more.

I liked the Smelly Towel Cleaner. It was easy to sprinkle into the washer and my towels were bright, clean, and smelt fresh.

  1. My favorite laundry technique is when I separate white form color fabrics and after I soak the whites on the detergent powder for at least 1 hour, I put it under the sun to make it whiter and kill germs

  2. Although I have yet to find a detergent which is non-toxic to humans AND an effective cleaner, I do have a technique that is my solid go-to solution: a cup of white vinegar in the load of whites to take out any body odor that tends to linger in our workout/sleep T-Shirts and socks. For unsightly yellowing under the armpit areas, I take a toothbrush gently scrub with some white vinegar and baking powder (and organic white vinegar works too!)

  3. I use plan old Tide detergent which generally works well. But I will admit that I have very smelly towels!

  5. When I saw "Smelly Towel", I knew this post was for me! So far, my favorite laundry products are Mrs. Meyers Clean Day. For towels I use the detergent and booster with hot water, then a dryer sheet to reduce static. If this "Smelly Towel" product really works, I sure would like to try it. Thanks - London (rpgirl60@yahoo.com)

  6. Favorite product would be our new washer - it's nice to not have one that we had to repair every six months, though we now have to use HE detergent. Technique - separate the clothes by colors and types at a minimum. We sometimes just get in a hurry and toss it all in, but it seems to work better separating them. :)

I'd like to give this a try to see if we can refresh our towels. Seems like that would be a great help.

  11. I have used Smelly Washer and it really works!
The mildewy smell from my front load washer was not too bad (I have heard of people that had way worse smells) and Smelly Washer got rid of the smell completely! I would love to try Smelly Towel, sometimes the kids clothes & towels can be hidden for a long time & get funky!

  39. My favorite laundry technique is to seperate my whites, towels, colors and sheets.
I always use LESS laundry detergent than recommended. You don't need to use the recommended amount, less is more and soak if necessary.

  43. I like to turn jeans inside out so they fade more slowly. Don't think it works? Turn inside out a pair of black jeans you've been washing the regular way and see which side is darker black. That's what convinced me.
