Laundry seems to pile up so quick. Doesn't there always seem to be a load in the washer or dryer? This also means that the detergent and softeners are being released in your home on a constant basis. I don't know about you, but I don't like breathing in that harsh chemical flowery smell during the day. Are you looking for more gentle & environmentally friendly laundry alternative? You may want to give soap nuts a try. If you are not familiar with them, they are a dried organic berry that replaces commercial laundry that are imported directly from Kathmandu, Nepal. I know they look strange and it's hard to believe that this nut is going to clean, but they do!

Demetria Organics is a new online "green shop" that sells these little wonders along with organic teas, essential oils, organic candy, body butter, olive oil, and much more. They work great and I was very satisfied.
DIRECTIONS:
Simply place 3-4 shells into a cotton drawstring bag and tie closed. Place the bag in the washing machine with your load of laundry & let them do their magic. (Remove prior to putting your clothes in the dryer) Your laundry will come out scent free and soft as can be.
I like my laundry to have a scent, so I added 4 drops of lavender essential oil on a cloth and added it in the dryer.
