Eat Cleaner Review: Fruit, Vegetable, and Poultry Wash

We eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables on the go. My daughter loves to eat an apple or strawberries at the farmer's market or while running errands. Fruits and vegetables should always be washed thoroughly before eaten but what do you do when you are on the go? Recently, I have had the opportunity to try a few Eat Cleaner Grab & Go Fresh Produce wipes . The wipes can be used at home to clean your food and are great to use on the go when washing isn't an option. The wipes inhibit browning,
helps food last longer, and are safe to clean counter tops and cutting surfaces. They are lab proven to kill up to 99+% E.coli and Salmonella.

I was also sent their Eat Cleaner Seafood and Poultry Wash. One thing I dislike is cleaning and cutting raw chicken! Yuck! Using this wash, takes some of the ickiness out of preparing chicken. World World: Happy Holidays Word Friends Review

I am a fan of World World because it's fun but teaches reading at the same time. I was thrilled to review their new Holiday DVD, WordWorld: Happy Holidays WordFriends! from N’Circle Entertainment. This darling DVD has two Holiday World World stories.

In The Christmas, the WorldWorld friends are celebrating Christmas and exchanging gifts. The friends search for a S-T-A-R to top their tree. DUCK tries to lasso a star to give to FROG. But with failed attempts, the letters S-T-A-R are left as a special present.

Zonderkidz Giveaway: My Christmas Gift

I have been collecting Christmas books for my daughter for the past couple of years now. We have a few classics but some of my favorites are from Zonderkidz. Crystal Bowman has written some wonderful children's books that help shed some light on the true meaning of Christmas. "J is for Jesus," "My Christmas Stocking," and "My Christmas Gift" are a few that Zonderkidz have sent me for review purposes. I also have bought Bowman's Thanksgiving story and a few others.

"J is For Jesus," tells the story of the candy cane. It is a lovely reminder of Jesus during this season. "My Christmas Stocking" weaves together the stocking tradition of Saint Nicholas with the true meaning of Christmas.

My daughter's favorite is "My Christmas Gift," which is a colorful rhyming board book that explores why we give each other presents. Bowman explains the Christmas story, and why God loved us so much, that he gave us his son Jesus, and the true gift of Christmas is that if we believe in and love him, we'll receive eternal life.

"It's fun to find presents under the tree and give Christmas gifts to your family. But the very best gift comes from above - It's Jesus the Savior, wrapped in God's love."

My daughter really enjoys her simplistic but beautiful books and the illustrations by Claudine Gevry are captivating and inviting. It was a pleasure to review them and I hope you and your family enjoy them as much as we do.

Zucchini Boats!

The last one left...not for long...

Yummy! Zucchini Boats are just yummy and a lot of fun to eat and make. I enjoy making these for my daughter.
They are also an excellent source of manganese, vitamin C, magnesium, vitamin A, fiber, potassium, folate, copper, riboflavin, and phosphorus.

When purchasing zucchini, look for ones that are heavy, shiny, and an average size (not overly big or small).

There are many different recipes for Zucchini Boats. You can Google it, but I use my mom's recipe which is heavenly!

Got Bagnesia? Giveaway and Review

What's Bagnesia? It's when you forget your reusable bags at home. In my case, I always seem to leave them in my car. Many people have good intentions, but distractions get in the way, and there you are carrying paper or plastic out the store door.

Organic Pajamas Giveaway!!!

What is in your child's pajamas?

There could be PBDE (polybrominated diphenylether) AKA Flame retardantsin your jammies. These chemicals have been found in blood, urine, and breast milk. Research has shown PBDEs to be linked to thyroid, immune system, reproductive system, and liver damage. Flame-retardants are used in the US and Canada for children's sleepwear, carpet, mattresses, wallpaper, and other plastics. "The CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) requires that children's sleepwear contain flame-retardants or be snug fitting."

Basically, if your child's pajamas are not "snug fitting," they probably contain fire retardants. Like many parents, I was not aware of this and bought many cute, looser pj's for my daughter.

What is the best?

Snug fit pajamas are the best and look for organic when you can. Upon, my realization about my daughter pj's I started to look online and I found an awesome online store called Kid Bean. If you are looking for organic, vegan, baby, and kid products, you will want to check out Kid Bean. They even carry Eco-friendly furniture. I reviewed Lapsaky Zephyr Green/Violet Toddler Organic Cotton Rib Long John Pajamas. They are purple and green and fit perfectly! I was overly pleased with these pajamas. Get Immunity at The Health Food Emporium!

Some of the questions that I get asked most often is:

What vitamins do you take? and Where do you buy them from?

Well, I have shopped around and done a lot of research on the best of the best vitamins. A few months ago I wrote about New Chapter, which is one of the companies I buy several products from. One of my favorite products is Immunity Take Care. Where do I buy it? Health Food Emporium.

Health Food Emporium is a great find! A big thank-you to my friend who told me about this store. I have not found Immunity Take Care at a lower price.

It's elderberry, which Hippocrates described Elderberry's (Sambucus nigra) use in tonics because it was traditionally used to help support the immune system.

They are chewable yummy purple pills that help your immune system, especially during flu and cold season. They are something that will always be on my shelf or in my suitcase:)
Immunity Take Care herbal extract is fingerprinted and guaranteed to have the same potency from dose-to-dose. There are many other elderberry supplements on the market but this is the highest quality, in my opinion.

Health Food Emporium sells all of my favorite products and at the best prices around! The owners are New Chapter and Garden of Life fans. And after browsing through their book section, I see that we favor the same authors, such as Jordin Rubin and Dr. Russell Blaylock.

I feel like I know owner Gail Bowman, after reading her comical book Country Tales. I was sent this book to review and read it a few days ago under a shady palm tree near my house. It is a quick read and very humorous. The story starts with Gail and her family making the move from city to country life. It is a winding tale of a family and their daily life raising goats, rabbits, and cows. They have outrageous neighbors, meet some hilarious people, and love every minute sharing in the funny moments together!
I enjoyed reading her tales and laughed out loud more than once - thanks Gail.
