My impressions:
Many moms buy their baby food because they are too busy to think about the hassle of preparing food. Making your own baby food doesn't have to be a labor of love any more...it can just be plain old love! Fresh is definitely better and organic better yet. With an appliance like the babycook, you can easily prepare a bunch of servings in minutes. They can be poured into ice-cube trays and frozen for later use. There is only one small bowl and a lid to wash. It also has an automatic shut off so you don't need to monitor it like you would items boiling on a stove.
It retails for $149.00. At first I thought of this as being a luxury item and not a necessity, but then I did some math. Your baby will probably be eating baby food for about 12 months and roughly 3 jars a day. That comes out to be around 1,000 jars of baby food a year. If you are buying organic jars, then they are about $1.00. So you will probably spend around $1,000 on baby food for the year. Buying whole foods for the family and using the babycook to cook your little one's food might be a more economical and a healthier choice. There is a great recipe book that come with it for older babies that can eat combinations of foods.
I am not surprised why celebrities such as Tori Spelling are using Beaba Babycook to prepare their little one's food. It is very compact, stylish, and lightweight. It is also a breeze to use and clean.

I honestly wondered if that product was any good when I saw it at the mall. Great review! My kids are too old but it sounds like a nice shower gift. A bit expensive...so maybe a group gift. Nothing like feeding your baby the best!
ReplyDeleteI saw Tori Spelling using the babycook on her show too!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS!! I really want to get one for my daughter. I appreciate the review b/c I was on the fence...I have never seen the $15.00 off coupon! That's awesome:)
ReplyDeleteThe math helped me deside plus I bet it makes great applesauce for older kids as well...great Christmas gift for new baby~
ReplyDeleteSigh, where was this appliance when my kids were young. I did this process but it took so long. This appliance would have made life so much easier.
ReplyDeleteI used to cook our food without salt or butter then blend the food for baby. For quick meals or nights when we had something too spicy for baby I had ice cubes with the food that I just heated up. But this would be nice!! Maybe for a grandbaby
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Beaba Babycook! I had to have surgery on a couple of teeth about a year ago and I remember thinking how nice it would have been to have one on hand during the six week recovery period. Would have made my food healthier, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteThen can you believe that I found one at GOOD WILL!!! $7.95. I actually stood in the store and pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Now I have one and I love it! And now that I've experienced it I can tell you it's worth every penny, no matter what you pay for it.
I love Babycook, too. Nice review! I particularly like how easy it is to clean -- that's how I measure the time something takes me to prepare. I count from washing the veggies to cleaning the dishes. That's how life goes!
ReplyDeleteA bit expensive...so maybe a group gift.
