Here is Mom's Best Bets list of sweets:

- Yummy Earth organic lollipops~great tasting pops that come in flavors such as pomegranate and mango
- Surf Sweet gummy bears~ made with natural colors and organic flavors
- Endangered species organic chocolate
- Barbara's oatmeal mini cookie packs
- Sun drops natural M&M's~they taste just like M&M's but without the artificial coloring
- Raisin and Pretzel packs (ideas from A 2 Z Vegetarian)
(these items can be found in many specialty grocery stores, whole foods, and natural health food stores near you)
**Others include homemade candy apples (spread cashew butter thinly around your apple and roll in carob chips), fruit dipped in chocolate, and hemp brownies. Get creative and healthy with your kids during the holidays! Got a favorite that isn't listed here?
Great! Tell me about it and I will add it to the list:)

I am going to give Raisin & pretzel packs for trick or treating. I don't allow my kids to eat all those candies and don't want to give it to other kids and spoil their health.
ReplyDeleteThat's great A2Z! All kids love pretzels and raisins ..one of my daughter's favorites last years was an orange pumpkin pen that lit up.(so candy isn't necessary to put a smile on a kid's face!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great list. I will have to look for those products.
ReplyDeleteI just hope that people only give out packaged things for Halloween. Last year the kids got a lot of homemade things which immediately get tossed in the garbage. You can't risk letting your kids eat something not wrapped from the store from all of those strangers. We even toss the apples in the bush for the deer. If it's not wrapped....
ReplyDeleteI agree that the best things to give out are pen's or pencils or little toys like that: a spider ring, pumpkin eraser, etc.
As a kid though, my favorite thing to get was a can of pop. We'd go back to those houses more than once.
LOL
