Can you believe that there are only 79 days left until Christmas? Mom's Best Bets will be featuring great gift ideas that are educational, fun, and healthy for the mind, body, and spirit for the next 2 months! We started to feel the Christmas spirit early when we watched "Prima Princessa presents The Nutcracker." This movie is a wonderful Christmas spectacular filled with action, snow fairies, toy soldiers, and of course dancing! The ballerina fairy named Prima Princessa (picture to the left) leads a group of children through the magical journey of the Nutcracker. She explains the scenes so that the children can understand what is happening through the ballet. My daughter is almost 4 years old and she was in awe watching this DVD. She wore here tutu while dancing and watching the world famous San Fransisco ballet perform.
My daughter especially like when Prima Princessa, in between the ballet, explained the different ballet moves to a group of young ballerinas. You can see a preview here: Clip of The Nutcracker
As a teacher and mother, I was impressed with Prima Princessa's ability to captivate a young audience and bring this famous ballet to a level where children can be exposed to performance arts and understand and interact with it.
The DVD encourages movement, pretend-play and creativity. This 40 minute show is the perfect Holiday Gift for children ages 3 to 6. My little one enjoyed this interactive ballet experience and I hope yours do too!
