  1. Oh wow that is funny because my husband and I were saying the other day that Baby Einstein books don't really do anything for babies or toddlers. :)

  2. I'm kind of surprised that anyone actually expected a series of books or videos to make their kids brilliant all on their own. When my son was born back in 2002, we bought up a lot of their videos, and I would sit down on the floor with my son in his bouncy seat, and we would watch the brightly colored scenes and listen to the music, while I would point to things and talk about them with him. I think it's pretty much common sense that if a person was expecting a video, a book, or a CD to do the work for them, they were going to end up disappointed. I do, remember, though, one of the Baby Einstein videos had a lot of scenes of various places in and around the house, and it would show children doing the signs for items in each of the areas. After watching that video with him several times, I did notice that he began to do some of the signs when he heard people saying the words.
