Safe Bleach?

When washing whites, regular detergent just doesn't cut it (if you know what I mean). Bleach always seemed like a necessity for bright whites. But there are alternatives that are better for you (and your lungs) and also the environment.

One of my favorite bleach alternatives is "pure oxygen whitener" by Eco Store ( a New Zealand company). It works great without unhealthy chemicals- no phosphates, chlorine, petrochemicals, or dyes.

I also use their dish washing powder. Again, no toxic chemicals that could be harmful to your health or cause skin irritation, just plant based surfactants, mineral salts, and essential oils. Did you know that using a dishwasher uses less water than hand washing. What a great excuse to run it!

  1. Way cool find! You're an awesome GREEN Mommy!
Right now I use ecover dish tabs but might try the Seventh Generation tabs next because they're made in USA.
COUPONS are on the websites! Though if I remember Seventh Generation makes you register to get them.
I found a Biokleen laundry product coupon on their website after I already bought it. Doh!
